This week, share your photographs that have captured motion, and tell us the stories behind the images.

This friendly dog, happily jumped into the water in Rockwood Park, to pick up the ball his owner kept throwing … time after time! Dogs are funny that way — they don’t get bored, nor do they reflect upon the purpose of the whole thing 🙂

I don’t know this dog personally, but I heard his name was Toby.

  1. I was just thinking the same as Lena – the beautiful wave of water where it’s tail has shaken it off. And the sodden mane of fur around its neck. Great 🙂

T and I are always looking at dogs – Edinburgh is the doggiest city we have ever known – and we love the way dogs look at their humans every two seconds to check that everything is OK.

They go – “Ah good, everything is OK.” And then the same thing again two seconds later.

It must be very worrying being a dog – made up for by the great time they have running about after balls and sticks.

          1. They are Italian hunting dogs – apparently a very old breed. A fairly big dog – about the size of a Setter – and with the most mournful expression you are ever likely to see 🙂

The ones I have seen here have lovely rich brown longish hair.

    1. I think I’ll go back to ‘moderate comments’, because here I’ve missed a whole slew. Here in SJ almost everyone seems to have a dog, which is a little surprising, considering the poverty. I love that way they look up at their human …
